INTRODUCTION

The use of Communication and Information Technology (ICT) has provided students, faculty members, and other staff with cutting-edge opportunities in adapting learning, teaching, and managing individual needs. An infusion of computers, and more recently ICT, has demonstrated varying impacts on learning. The students who are continuously exposed to technology through education have better ‘knowledge’, presentation skills, and innovative capabilities, and are ready to make more endeavors for learning as compared to their peers. Chakdaha College provides the following facilities or resources:

OBJECTIVES

The ICT strategy of Chakdaha College aims at offering guiding principles within which the institution may expand and upgrade ICT infrastructure and facilities to meet the growing needs of this College as a premier educational institution. The college aims at creating new infrastructure assets as well as in managing and efficiently utilizing existing assets and Human Resources. The College, therefore, proposes to provide and facilitate an increasing use of ICT by all the stakeholders. It also visualizes sustainable use of ICT within the campus and practices to promote effective utilization of acquired ICT facilities. ICT Policy has been developed around the following main principles:

  • Efficient use of existing ICT facilities and optimal allocation of additional resources
  • Payment for services and support wherever applicable
  • Resolving the issues of software rights /ownership
  • Unambiguous process of procurement and allocation of its resources.
  • Need analysis for ICT facilities
  • E-waste Management as per requirement
  • Use of ICT in decision-making and documentation
