Chakdaha College began its journey in 1972 with just 76 students in a borrowed space, offering only two courses. Over the years, it has grown tremendously. Today, the college operates with two sections, morning and day, and has nearly 8,000 students, with 51% being female. The college now offers 15 major courses under the UG-NEP-2020 curriculum. Since its inception, the college has not only increased its student strength but also significantly upgraded its infrastructure and resources.
